Wind Trainers - These are your entry level trainers and offer a lot of value to those new to cyling. Most seasoned atheletes will want to look elsewhere due to the limited resistance offered by almost all wind trainers.
Pros - inexpensive, progressive resistance curve
Cons - noisy, limited resistance
Mag Trainers - There are actually 3 different classifications of mag trainers(fixed, adjustable, and progressive). Each of these will be disscussed in greater detail in my next revision of this guide. Until then if you have any questions feel free to give me a call or send me an email.
Pros - There are no pros that are shared between all three clasifications of mag trainers
Cons - linear resistance curve
