Local Mountain Biking

The San Angelo State Park, located just west of the city on FM 2288, is the focal point for off-road riding in the San Angelo area. This park has over 50 miles of mountain biking trails, with everything from rolling singletrack to short, steep, and rocky hills. Riders from across the state consider San Angelo State Park to be one of the best mountain biking venues in the region, with trails such as Roller Coaster and Playground for experts and rolling dirt road and singletrack for the less experienced riders. Although the trail system can be accessed at several locations, most local riders start at the Burkett trailhead (ask for a map and directions at the south entrance gate).
